This Privacy Policy explains how PDFix – PDF Tools (“PDFix”, “the app”, “we”, “us”), published by NextGenVerse, handles information when you use the app on Android. By using the app you agree to this policy.
1. Your documents and files
- Scanning, editing, converting, merging, compressing, signing, OCR (text recognition) and the other PDF tools run on your device. Your documents are not uploaded to our servers.
- Files you create are stored in the app’s private storage on your device. They leave your device only when you choose to share them, save them to your phone’s storage or gallery, or back them up to Google Drive.
- Translate uses Google ML Kit on your device. The first time you translate into a language, the app downloads that language model from Google; your text is translated on the device.
- URL to PDF opens the web address you enter (like a browser would) to turn the page into a PDF. That website receives the request and handles it under its own privacy policy.
2. Information we collect
| What | Why | Provider |
|---|---|---|
| App usage events (screens opened, tools used, tasks completed), device model, OS version, app version, approximate region, app-instance ID | To understand which features are used and improve the app | Google Firebase Analytics |
| Crash reports and error details (stack traces, device state at the time of a crash) | To find and fix bugs | Google Firebase Crashlytics |
| Advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, ad interactions | To show ads and measure them (only for users who don’t have Premium) | Google AdMob |
| Your name, email address and profile photo (only if you sign in with Google) | To show your account in the app and enable Google Drive backup | Google Sign-In / Firebase Authentication |
| Purchase status of Premium | To unlock Premium features and remove ads | Google Play Billing |
We do not collect your contacts, location, SMS, call logs or the contents of your documents.
3. Permissions
- Camera – to scan documents, ID cards and QR / barcodes. Images stay on your device.
- Internet – for ads, analytics, crash reports, sign-in, Drive backup, downloading translation models and URL to PDF.
- Storage (Android 9 and older only) – to save files to your Downloads folder when you choose to. On newer Android versions the app uses the system file picker and does not need broad storage access.
- Biometrics – if you turn on App Lock, Android checks your fingerprint or face on the device. We never receive biometric data.
4. Google Drive backup (optional)
If you turn on backup, the app asks for permission to access only the files it creates in your Google Drive (“drive.file” access). It creates a “PDFix” folder there and uploads your app documents to it. It cannot see your other Drive files. You can revoke access at any time in your Google Account settings, and you can delete the folder from Google Drive.
5. Advertising and consent
The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. Google may use your advertising ID to show personalized ads where the law allows. If you are in a region that requires consent (such as the EEA, UK or Switzerland), the app asks for your consent through Google’s consent form. You can change your choice later in Account → Ad Privacy Choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. Premium users do not see ads.

6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers listed above (Google), who process it to provide their services, and when required by law.
7. Data retention and deletion
- Documents in the app stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.
- Backups stay in your Google Drive until you delete them.
- Analytics and crash data are kept by Google for the retention periods set in Firebase, after which they are deleted.
- To delete your account information, sign out in the app and remove PDFix from your Google Account’s connected apps. To ask us to delete any data linked to you, email us at the address below.
8. Security
Information sent between the app and Google services is encrypted in transit. Your documents are kept in the app’s private storage, which other apps cannot read. You can also protect the app with App Lock.
9. Children
PDFix is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict its processing. Contact us to make a request.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we change the effective date above and, for important changes, ask you to accept the new version in the app.
